Economising in style…

images-2After an autumn and winter of trips up the M3,  in the February of 1998 I decided that I needed to free up some cash and the single largest item that I could sell (I needed a house so that wasn’t an option) was my car. So it was time to visit my friend again…. He had been a fan of the Audi GT for a while and had customised his own nicely and now he had a second one on the drive. He said he would be willing to buy back the BMW if I took the blue Audi so after a short test drive I decided to take the deal because it meant that I had some cash and a great looking fun to drive coupé. It wasn’t the most practical dog car but I think my Golden actually loved lying across the back seat and poking his head through the gap between the front seats to remind me he was there and it had Audi’s solid build quality and that fantastic VAG engine flexibility which meant it was always fun to be in and if I tried hard I can pretend it was an Audi Quattro.

I loved that car and kept it until I left the country and I was forced to sell.
